The Park Amplification legacy, a brainchild of the legendary Jim Marshall himself, boasts nearly as much history as the iconic Marshall brand. As fate would have it, Jim Marshall inked a distribution deal for his amps in 1965, yet the agreement's ambiguity allowed him to craft amps on the side—just not under his own name. And so, Park was born, producing amps with subtle twists on classic Marshall circuits until it dissolved in 1982.

Among the lineup of amps, Park also dabbled in a handful of pedals, mostly consisting of wahs and their cousins. However, one pedal stood out like a sore thumb: The Park Fuzz Sound.

The original gem sported enigmatic TO-1 package transistors, leaving us to believe that the circuit vanished alongside Jim Marshall. But fear not, dear fuzz enthusiasts! The brilliant minds at Earthquaker Devices, in partnership with the reborn Park Amplification, have masterfully resurrected the Park Fuzz Sound for a new generation of sonic explorers.

While the original fuzz wielded those mysterious tin cans, the Earthquaker Park Fuzz breathes life into the classic with a hand-selected set of NOS germanium transistors that capture the original's essence.  Interestingly, Earthquaker had to dial back the Fuzz control to halfway on the new Park Fuzz Sound, while the original was cranked to the max—a testament to the reissue's expanded fuzz range.

Now, let's talk power—the original Park Fuzz Sound's battery-only operation was a bit of a drag, requiring a lever to pry open the pedal's lid for battery replacement. And though using batteries can be a hassle, many vintage fuzz pedals are positive-ground, meaning daisy-chaining isn't possible. But fret not! The Earthquaker Park Fuzz has your back, incorporating an ingenious internal chip that resolves voltage issues and allows seamless integration into your rig.
